To enable the underprivileged population to be given priority, a family income of less than USD 100 per month is used as a basis for allowing them to attend school. Orphans, children from the region and children of disabled parents are given preference. Attempts are made to ensure that the new children to be admitted are of an equal gender split. Only one child can be admitted per family. A committee of four elected representatives decides after home visits who will be admitted. One school year comprises 20 - 25 students.
The parents don’t have to pay any school fee.
The current number of students admitted to House of Light School is 327.
